Focus on sustainability: new packaging solutions as part of our strategy

Our sustainability strategy combines environmental, social and economic aspects to achieve long-term success and a positive impact on society and the environment. Our new packaging solutions are part of this comprehensive effort to act responsibly and actively promote sustainability. Learn more about our sustainability initiatives and commitment.

New design — our packaging changes

In an effort to be both more environmentally friendly and easier to use, we have completely redesigned our product packaging. As part of our sustainability strategy, we have switched to environmentally responsible materials and redesigned our packaging solutions.

A key element of the rebranding is our revised labels, which use a clear colour coding system to immediately identify the material of the packaged products — for example, dark green for A2 stainless steel or dark red for A4 stainless steel. This makes selection easier and ensures quick orientation. In addition, our packaging features intuitive pictograms that act as visual aids and make it easy to identify the properties of the products. The pictograms are self-explanatory and serve as an aid to understanding, making it easier to identify the products throughout the project.

These innovations in packaging design not only help us to be more sustainable, but also improve the overall customer experience by making product identification easier and faster.

Sustainability at Eurotec: our actions for a sustainable future

Our sustainability strategy is based on long-term planning and implementation of targeted actions that combine environmental, social and economic objectives. Key components of this strategy include reducing our carbon footprint, promoting renewable energy, maintaining strict ethical standards in our supply chain and our commitment to social responsibility. We are guided by three key aspects: EcoVadis, the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) and the carbon footprint. These aspects play a crucial role in our company's focus on sustainability and environmental protection.

EcoVadis

EcoVadis rates companies on their sustainability performance in areas such as the environment, fair labour practices, ethics, and supply chain. We intend to use EcoVadis to objectively assess our current sustainability practices and identify areas for improvement.  We can then implement the recommended changes and strategies to improve our sustainable practices.

Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM)

The Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) is a CO2 border adjustment mechanism adopted by the European Union. It aims to ensure that imported goods are subject to the same emission prices as goods produced within the EU. The aim is to prevent greenhouse gas emissions from being shifted to countries with little or no ambition to reduce CO2 emissions. In line with the CBAM regulations, we regularly report our products and data to the European Commission's portal to enable transparent traceability. Through this process, we ensure compliance with EU regulations while supporting global efforts to reduce carbon emissions.

CO2- footprint

We use the carbon footprint to measure all greenhouse gas emissions generated directly and indirectly by our business activities. With this in mind, we are currently undertaking a comprehensive inventory of all sources of emissions in our business in order to set precise reduction targets, minimize our environmental impact and operate more sustainably.

Quality is the basis of all our activities.

We expect an unrestricted commitment to quality from every one of our employees. The training and further development of a customer- and quality-oriented mindset and acting have always been a priority. Compliance with legal and official requirements within an economic framework and the promotion of environmentally conscious action is an obligation for us. We are proud of the fact that almost all our products in the timber, façade and concrete segments are ETA-certified.

It goes without saying that our quality assurance department checks the daily produced batches for standards such as compliance with the drawings, functionality, visual appearance and accordance with customer-specific specifications. This is the only way we can be sure that we provide our customers with the consistently high quality they have come to expect from us.

Since June 2019 we are also DEKRA certified!
